There is no doubt that the quality of education in schools is vitaly important. It is so because the main education of growing person is provided exactly there. Recently, the ability to be able to communicate in a foreign language is one of the most important demands for new employees.

By writing this Master thesis, it was aspired to find out and empirically justify factors that have the major influence upon the quality management in a foreign language teaching. In order to do this precisely, nonfiction was carefully analyzed. This analysis let to traverse the main theories and methods of a foreign language teaching, the contents of teaching, and major factors that are closely related to the organization of a teaching process.

The questionnaire method enabled to know the opinion of people (who were investigated) about factors which have the major influence upon the quality management in a foreign language teaching. The methodology of the analysis is motivated by the main teaching theories and the propositions of various scholars about teaching as a process and about factors that have influence upon a high quality management. The analyses made in this Master thesis are the following: nonfiction analysis, questionnaire and statistical data analysis.

143 foreign language teachers from the districts of Akmenė, Biržai, Mažeikiai, Šiauliai, Kaunas, Prienai, and Alytus participated in this research. Respondents were chosen arbitrarily.

The hypotheses that the quality of a foreign language teaching in schools depends on the following: the variety of teaching methods and theories, the preparation of teaching contents, and the organization of a teaching process were confirmed. However, the other hypothesis that the quality of a foreign language teaching in schools depends on the pedagogues’ preparation was confirmed only partly.
