Disabled people have more opportunities to develop their dignity and identity in nowadays society. Thanks to work and activities of disabled communities many disabled people are not treated like inferior members of society anymore. Disabled people are as much valuable as the others, they have natural instinct to give and receive as well as to communicate with other people. The purpose of this research is to reveal activities, which strenghten working capabilities of the disabled. The goals are: 1.To reveal the concept of dignity in social work. 2. To emphasize activities of L‘Arche community. 3. To identify methodological aspects in L‘Arche community working programs. 4. To reveal particularity of working programs in L‘Arche community. The qualititative research has been conducted in order to analize activities, which develop dignity of the disabled people in L‘Arche Cape Breton community. The qualititative narative method has been choisen for this research. There are 11 categories and 47 subcategories. The main conclussions follow: 1. Although human dignity is being acknowledged as one of the main social values in nowadays society , but so far there is no common conception of human dignity except the ideas on human value from different ages. 2. Five categories, illustrating methodological aspects of working programs in L‘Arche community, have been distinguished analyzing the information, received during the interview, in this research: the intensification of individuality and abilities of the disabled, the revelation of strenghts, an open expression of feelings as the sign of person‘s changes, the understanding of the disabled and their involvement into the deccission making proccess, the emphasis on the obeying the rules as well as on the responsibility for their actions. 3. While choosing working methods the participants of this research pay attention to the creativity of people in working activities, everybody‘s ability to get involved into teamwork, their capabilities and hobbies, wchich enable the disabled people to strengthen and develop their individual abilities. Social workers emphasize the importance of motivation as well as pay attention to everybody‘s individual abilities and strenghts. 4. The results of this research reveal that there is no common common system nor the methods, which may help to involve the disabled people into the deccission making proccess sistematicaly. Therefore, the model of involvement the disabled people into the deccission making proccess shall be created. The unified system and methods, which strengthen abilities of the disabled, shall be applied.
