Development of the surface wastewater infrastructure in the municipal town of Birštonas and Birštonas village is contributing towards the implementation of the Lithuania National Sustainable Development Strategy, including the protection of biodiversity, and of the Lithuania Environment Protection Strategy, including the reduction of pollution from the surface wastewater. The results of data analysis demonstrate that the surface wastewater infrastructure of Birštonas city is not sufficiently developed to satisfy the needs of economic and social development of the city.

8 wastewater accumulation systems are scheduled to be designed and equipped in the town of Birštonas in order to ensure the accumulation and clearing of surface wastewater, 3 systems of accumulation in Birštonas village (1 and 2 appendix). Length of total supposed wastewater network in Birštonas town are 14,233 km, in Birštonas village – 5,438 km.

For every system selected fecundity clearing mechanisms in order to ensure the clearing all of surface wastewater before let it in straight water pool. Flush of wastewater will be untied through these mechanisms of clearing. This flush of wastewater will compose no fewer than 30 % the biggest countable instantaneous flush (l/s), but it will not overrun the biggest legal pollution (DLT).

Total demand of investments in Birštonas town are 27,880.742 Lt (with VAT), Birštonas village – 9,181.843 Lt (su VAT).
