1980 Hague Convention is the principal foundation of modern international child law. The main aim of Convention is to prevent the parental child abduction. International parental child abduction is an increasing problem. In majority parental child abduction cases are when the abducting parent is the primary carer of the child. Many left – behind parents who make an application under the Convention not necessarily desire that the child be returned but they seek for access rights. According Convention article 7 c) one of the functions of the Central Authority is to seek for voluntary return or for another amicable resolution of the case. Usually it is reached by referral of parties to a specialist organization providing an appropriate mediation service. It is one of the best measures to protect the child interest and keep communication between parents in the future.
